love / hate

despite the love affair i have been having with my bike lately, nothing makes me want to run more than spending the morning watching the boston marathon. i thought i'd be a wreck this day - wallowing in my own self pity at the fact that i am not there. but i am fine. boston will always be there and i will be there one day too.

but now, the coverage is almost over and i need to stop watching tv and texting my friends in boston and start my day. i have a lot of stuff that needs to get done before tonights' bike ride.

i loved the new balance ads that ran during the coverage. now, i haven't exactly broken up with running (me and running are just on a break while i have a torrid affair with biking - running is very understanding and will be waiting for me when i come back) - this one hit he nail on the head. there's another one- about how running knows you are thinking of leaving it. they are genius ads. love them.

Oh, that's a funny ad! And it sounds like your head's in a great place with regard to the whole Boston/running thing.

How did your coach do??

Wasn't the women's finish just incredible? Hubby and I watched it via video stream; we both got a bit verklempt at the end!

Here's keeping my fingers crossed that I'll finally get to meet you in person next year in Boston :)

vegan - my coach totally rocked it.

house - you and running will totally get back together!

Great ad.

And you’re totally rocking out the biking thing; I definitely think there is a balance that can be achieved between the two.

So very very impressive that you found a way to still enjoy your active lifestyle even though you can't do it exactly as you choose. I think I may have to be like 80 to qualify for Boston, so I probably won't ever see you there...but I know you'll get there!

I watached every minute of the Boston coverage. Now I can kindof see why men can set adn watch an entire football game without moving:)

Love the cycle photos!!!!

thanks amanda ... i am completley recovered from my itb issues - so the biking is not a matter of having no other choice because running isn't an option ... its mostly because i finally admitted i needed a really big break from running. so right now, i am doing exactly as i choose & i'm surprised as hell that its going so well! nice to realize you wont die from not running!

Yes, I saw them. I saw it again this morning in fact. And you WILL one day get to Boston if that is your desire!

Could these ads be any more accurate? For once, marketers who understand their target audience! Wow!
