everything hurts

the morning after the first run in seven weeks and three days is a rough one. i hobbled down the stairs wincing with every step. ouch. ouch and more ouch. i swear i was creaking. its been a long time since i have felt this kind of sore. its not the kind of satisfactory sore that makes me feel like i had a good workout. it just plain old hurts. i may have overdone it. may have run a bit too far or too fast for the first time in seven weeks and three days. but that would be so unlike me - you know, to jump right in and go all out.

then again, the creaking and wincing my way down the stairs could be four months from forty talking. i did just find my first few grays several weeks ago. either way - ow.

haha. not so fast girlfriend. i'm not back by long shot!

but i am thinking that in the interest of cross training and training for cross (cyclocross) that i need to do this running thing more often than once every 7 weeks!

Nah. That can't be it. Because if that were true then I could use the same excuse for my now 30 yo ass. And I've been firmly denying that it has anything to do with my out-of-shapeness.

Wussitis is my new favorite word, btw.

Forty is nothing. Just wait! But as to being sore with running. Try this instead. Go for a nice ride, whatever distance you want, and THEN run. I'm betting you will feel much better after. I'm just finding out again how much this works.

Ha ha, yes, SOOOOO unlike you. :)

Good lord, you're just now finding grays? You and I are the same age and I started going gray at 26.

Granted, I was teaching at the time...
